PA Department of Corrections tests all inmates upon arrival for Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and Syphilis. In addition, once the inmate arrives at their home institution, they are tested for Hep C, Hep B, and HIV. Education on sexual health and STDs is given to all inmates on intake as well as to inmates with above diagnosis at medical clinic visits. Release packets with condoms are given to all inmates. PA DOC collaborates with PA DOH for educational information and condoms for release packets.
